Soundtrack [10′].
Originally developed as a soundtrack for an installation by Australian artist Elizabeth Presa. It was eventually unused, and is still material awaiting its definitive form. The material consists of the first few pages of Spinoza's "Treatise on the Calculation of the Rainbow", read in its original Dutch by percussionist Arnold Marinissen, and then split up into individual phrases, and processed through extreme filter/ resonators of very high partials of the same fundemental frequency. The result is a tapestry of crytalline sounds based on the speech rhythms of the text. The piece could eventually take the form of an installation , or a performance with live percussion (perhaps glass or glass harmonica) and electronics.
